Thirteen students from the language department of International High School of Sarajevo visited the Department of English language and literature on Wednesday, 15 February 2017, to get acquainted with the study program being offered there.
The students were wholeheartedly welcomed by the professors and assistants and had the opportunity to hear all the necessary information about the department and the obligatory and elective courses provided there. Assistant professor Amna Brdarević-Čeljo gave a welcome speech and briefly discussed some linguistic peculiarities surveyed at thedepartment through various linguistic courses.
The speech was accompanied by the assistant Alma Milišić’s interesting and amusing presentation which emphasized the importance of studying the languages, English language in particular, and offered an insight into employment opportunities available after graduation through an array of photos of the department’s former students working all over the world. Assistant professors Vildana Dubravac and Ceylani Akay introduced themselves as well and addressed a few interesting introductory remarks to the audience.
They talked about the courses they teach and the advantages of enrolling at the Department of English Language and Literature at International Burch University. At the end of this pleasant gathering, students were given small gifts of appreciation for their visit and were taken on a guided tour round the Faculty’s Laboratory to be shown where the classes of audio-visual translation are held weekly.
