The end of semester at Department of English Language and Literature is anything but ordinary.
Tuesday, December 26, 2017, marked the beginning of an exciting but a very competitive Harry Potter week. First of all, students were sorted based on their demonstrated personality into one of the four houses: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff.
J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter books were the spark that initiated this entire idea. The main aim was to encourage students to participate more in extracurricular activities, to get them motivated before their final exams, and to promote friendship among all four years at the Department. So far, the idea proved to be successful, and students have demonstrated nothing but good collaboration, friendship, unity, and a great willingness to win.
In the following three weeks, students will have a chance to acquire points for their houses in some special events such as Scavenger hunt for a golden snitch, Harry Potter trivia, General knowledge quiz, and special in-class participation. Considering that our students share significant amount of knowledge and skills, the outcome of the competition is expected to be unpredictable till the very end.
May the best house win!
