On 9th of September, Linguistic Club coordinator, Teaching Assistant Eldin Milak, held a workshop on the Korean writing system – Hangul. Attendees learned a great deal about the Korean alphabet, starting from its historical background to writing basic consonants and vowels and pronouncing simple words.

In addition to students who were interested in this foreign language, Head of the English Department, Assist. Prof. Dr. Amna Brdarević-Čeljo, joined the lecture as well.

Attendees were given worksheets to help them follow the lecture as well as to practice writing individual signs. Some were even brave enough to attempt writing their name on the board.

The number of students interested in learning the Korean alphabet was surprisingly high. After getting a glimpse of the Korean language and culture, some of the students even showed interest in learning more about it.
